After several years of waiting, we are beyond thrilled to announce that the new studio album by Jason Elmore & Hoodoo Witch is finally here and ready to be released into the wild!
The new album, titled “Rise Up Lights”, is the band's 4th studio effort and is a stark departure from their previous blues-based recordings. This is a darker-themed album, both in lyrical content and mood. It features an abundance of beautifully savage guitar and vocals by Jason as well as devastating grooves provided by Brandon Katona (bass) and Mike Talbot (drums). ‘Rise Up Lights’ consists of 9 original songs that pay tribute to the classic eras of hard rock from the 1970s through the 1990s. Much of the writing was done with Jason's love and fondness for Van Halen, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Kings X, and Richie Kotzen, while still maintaining the originality and unique chemistry of the band itself. Hoodoo Witch haven't abandoned their blues roots, they're just put aside for now so that the rock and roll fury may be unleashed!
The full album clocks in at 46 minutes and gets right to the point without wasting much time. It gets in, does its job, and gets out. Most of the songs rock hard, although there are two tracks “Burning Bridge” and “Moonbird” which are a little gentler at times and serve to give the listener a brief reprieve before the storm that follows. Every third song is an instrumental, in which Jason pays homage to his shred guitar heroes such as Andy Timmons, Joe Satriani, and Jeff Beck.
“Rise Up Lights” will be released worldwide for digital streaming on all platforms on October 31, 2023. CDs will be immediately available to pre-order from the band's website and vinyl will be released sometime in mid-December. Beginning on September 22 and continuing every two weeks until Halloween, a single will be released on all digital platforms such as Spotify, iTunes, Pandora, etc., as well as 2 music videos which will be exclusive to “The Official Jason Elmore Music Channel” on YouTube, so please be sure and subscribe so you don't miss out! “Thank you all so very much for your patience, encouragement, and donations that helped to make this project see the light of day! It's taken a lot of years and a lot of hard work and sacrifice but I got it to the point where I didn't think I could do any better. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. As always, play the damn thing loud or just shut it down!” - Jason Elmore
